2Equipment & Software — Computers, monitors, desks, chairs, microphones, webcams, software subscriptions, and tools for your 1099 work.
3SE Tax Deduction — Automatically calculated as 50% of your self-employment tax. The IRS allows you to deduct half of SE tax from your income.
4Health Insurance — Only if self-employed and not eligible for coverage through a spouse's employer plan. Covers health, dental, and vision premiums.
5QBI Deduction — Up to 20% of qualified business income. Single filers under $191,950 or MFJ under $383,900 (2025 thresholds). Auto-applied if eligible.
6Mileage — $0.70/mile (2025 IRS rate). Covers miles for gig work, client meetings, and business errands. Excludes commuting to a W-2 job.
7Platform Fees — Fees and commissions from platforms (Upwork, Fiverr, Uber, Mercor, etc.). Leave at $0 if you already entered income net of fees.
